John McCain is seriously considering choosing a pro-abortion-rights running mate despite vocal resistance from conservatives, with former Democratic vice presidential nominee Joseph I. Lieberman (I-Conn.) very much in the mix, close McCain advisers say.

Multiple GOP sources say that party officials in Washington and in the states have been contacted by the McCain campaign in the past two weeks and asked about the fallout from such a choice. One person familiar with the calls said the party was being instructed to prepare for different candidate prototypes — including one in the mold of Lieberman, who is an independent but still caucuses with the Democrats.

Lieberman’s office declined to discuss the topic. “Those questions are best left to the McCain campaign at this time,” said Erika Masonhall, Lieberman’s Senate press secretary.

Indian state government encourages people to eat rats

PATNA, India - A state government in eastern Indian is encouraging people to eat rats in an effort to battle soaring food prices and save grain stocks.

Authorities in Bihar, one of India's poorest states, are asking rich and poor alike to switch to eating rats in a bid to reduce the dependence on rice. They even plan to offer rats on restaurant menus.

"Eating of rats will serve twin purposes -- it will save grains from being eaten away by rats and will simultaneously increase our grain stock," Vijay Prakash, an official from the state's welfare department, told Reuters.

Jitan Ram Manjhi, Bihar's caste and tribe welfare minister, said rat meat was a healthy alternative to expensive rice or grains, and should be eaten by one and all.

"We are very serious to implement this project since the food crisis is turning serious day by day," Manjhi, who has eaten rats, told Reuters.

In Bihar, rat meat is already eaten by Mushars, a group of lower caste Hindus, as well as poorer sections of society.

HONOLULU, Hawaii -- A group of Native Hawaiians claiming to be the state's legitimate rulers occupied the grounds of a historic palace for two hours before being arrested by state officers in the second recent takeover of its kind.

A group of men, wearing red shirts with "security" stenciled in yellow on the back, took over the grounds by chaining the gates of the palace next to the State Capitol and posted signs saying, "Property of the Kingdom of Hawaiian Trust."

The pro-sovereignty group identified its leader as King Akahi Nui, who was among those arrested. An "occupation public information bulletin" distributed by a member of the group began: "Majesty Akahi Nui, the King of Hawaii, has now reoccupied the throne of Hawaii. The Kingdom of Hawaii is now re-enacted."

Akahi Nui claims to have been crowned in 1998.

Another group calling itself the Hawaiian Kingdom Government occupied the palace grounds April 30 and has been getting permits to set up on the grounds each week since then. That group claims to be operating a functioning government from the palace grounds.

How do you plan to market your book?

That has been the biggest question with the three of the co-authors so swamped with other projects.

We just recently went live and the book can be purchased on Amazon.com, which was an exciting development for us.

You had mentioned that the authors of your book have other projects as well. Can you tell us what they are?

Brendan Steinhauser directs federal and state campaigns at Dick Armey's Freedom Works, Francisco Gonzalez has been raising money for the James Madison Institute, and currently I'm directing sponsorship for Ron Paul's Campaign for Liberty and the upcoming Rally in Minnesota.

Do you think that Obama will capture the youth vote?

I do for the most part. There just is not the same excitement on the other side of the aisle. That's not to say there can't be, but opponents of Obama need to get their act together if they want to expose his ideology.

Corsi, the author of the other anti-Obama book, is voting for the Constitution Party's Chuck Baldwin for president. As a Ron Paul activist, will you be voting for McCain?

I have no plans to vote for John McCain. Baldwin presents some solid views, and I think even a write in vote for Ron Paul will go a long way to showing the Republican establishment that they need to promote solid candidates who adhere to true limited government principles. The purpose of the book was not to take a stand for or against McCain however, it was to stand up an expose Barack Obama. [Readers of the Spartan Spectator take note: If you write in a name on the ballot in Michigan who did not declare a write-in-candidacy, your ballot will be thrown out]

What do you attribute to the tendency of our nation’s youth to be liberal/leftist?

I think a tremendous amount of it is education. When you are taught from the age of five to the age of 22 about how evil the free market is, how terrible the U.S. has acted, and how great socialist principles are; it's a difficult brainwashing to overcome.

What do you attribute your not having been brainwashed to?

College actually made my views more in line with the right.

I went to school and saw how everyone else thought and acted and thought to myself, "These people are fools... I don't want to be like them." My Christian faith has also played a role in why I do or not do certain things and even more so understanding why I should act a certain way. Seeing how the Republicans of the last eight years have acted has made me much more right wing and less party oriented.

What school did you attend?

I graduated from Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, CT.

What do you attribute Obama's celebrity-like status to?

Some people often gravitate to something new. Obama as a young black presidential candidate is something that has brought about a new interest from people. They've never seen that before.

If there is one message you would like to share with the world about Obama, what would it be?

Don't think of this election or any election in a "lesser of two evils" mentality. Stand against Obama because he is unqualified to be president, and don't feel you have to be tied to other candidates just because you don't support Obama.

Have you ever been published before (i.e., blogs, newspaper columns, books, articles in scholarly journals, etc.)?

This is my first book. I've been published in my college newspapers and magazines.

Do you have any major interviews scheduled?

Right now it's mostly bloggers who are spreading the news of our book. It's been difficult to take a moment to sit down and do any promotion for it. I joked with my fellow authors that I would be happy just so long as I could have one copy to give to my mother.

What do you think the worst part of an Obama presidency would be?

There's really nothing good that can come out of it.

He is a socialist in every sense of the word and stands for none of the principles our nation was founded upon.

A Muslim is to go on trial in a British legal first, accused of encouraging two boys to flog themselves during an Islamic ceremony to he held in Manchester.

Syed Mustafa Zaidi, 44, is accused of encouraging the boys, aged 15 and 13, who cannot be named for legal reasons, to beat themselves during a traditional Ashura ceremony at a community centre in Levenshulme, Manchester, on January 19.

The practice is common among Shia Muslims but allowing children to harm themselves is contrary to British law.

Ashura involves practitioners flagellating themselves using a Zanjeer Zani, an implement which has a wooden handle with chains and blades attached.

The Ashura ceremony takes place during the Muharram, the first month of the Islamic calendar, and commemorates the martyrdom of Husayn, the grandson of the Prophet Mohammed and a central figure in the Shia faith.

Zaidi, of Station Road, Eccles, Salford, denies two counts of child cruelty. Doubtless his defence will be that it is his religion.

Is this what multi-culturalism has brought to Britain? Children being taught to beat themselves with chains and blades?

The time has come to halt this ghastly multi-racial experiment before these people become the majority population in Britain, and forever extinguish British culture through demographic replacement.

Public Participation on Other Issues:

Mr. Michael Epstein, member of the Jewish Student Union, thanked
the Board for the opportunity to discuss the Young Americans for
Freedom (YAF) bringing Mr. Nick Griffin to campus to speak. Mr.
Griffin is the head of the British National Party. Mr. Epstein said
that the British National Party proposes incentives for immigrants
and their descendents to return home, advocating for the appeal of
all anti-discrimination legislation and restricting party membership
to indigenous British ethnic groups that derive from indigenous
Caucasians.

Mr. Epstein stated that Mr. Griffin has been arrested, convicted,
and prosecuted for incitement of hate speech and that the speech
that Mr. Griffin is scheduled to deliver at the Veterinary Medical
Center will include an explanation of how multiculturalism, mass
immigration, and Islam are destroying Western civilization. Mr.
Epstein said that he hoped the Board would reaffirm what President
Simon said in her statement and support productive civil
engagement.

Mr. Phillip Moon, MSU student and reporter for Spartanedge.com,
said that Mr. Nick Griffin is an outspoken anti-Semite and holocaust
denier. Mr. Moon said that he hoped MSU would make sure that
the event was a debate and not just Mr. Griffin spewing a message
of hate.

Mr. Chris Singer, MSU student and Board member of the Peace
Education Center, said that for the past 37 years, the Peace
Education Center has been a partner of MSU. The Center works to
bring about positive social change. Mr. Singer said that the YAF is
the only student group in the nation to be recognized as a hate
group. The purpose of such speech is to incite, not to have an
open discourse and exchange of ideas. Mr. Singer stated that the
Peace Education Center wishes to stand in solidarity with the
communities that have been the targets of YAF’s hate speech.

Dr. John Masterson, MSU Professor Emeritus, said that not all
forms of free speech and publication are protected by the First
Amendment and that inciting racial or ethnic hatred is not a
protected form of free speech. Dr. Masterson said that he
experienced great embarrassment and sadness that the YAF
student group was listed as a hate group by the Southern Poverty
Law Center.

They came, they saw, they carried - and they didn't cause any problems.

Members of OpenCarry.org peacefully set up shop Saturday at Veterans Memorial Park in Warren to prove a point about the Second Amendment and Michigan's gun laws.

About 75 gun enthusiasts strolled through the park throughout the afternoon with sidearms strapped to their belts in plain view.

The goal was to underscore that Michigan is among 44 states where it's legal to carry a gun in public without a permit, as long as it was legally purchased and registered. Concealed weapons permits are necessary for a hidden weapon.

At Veterans Park, the guns were all out there for the world to see, but everyone followed the law and kept them holstered.

Police received a 911 call from a panicked woman about a man walking around with a gun. About 12 officers responded, but immediately sent the man on his way when he proved the gun was legally registered.

Warren police were out in force. Police set up a mobile command station at the park, two officers in uniform walked the grounds, an undercover officer watched the crowd with binoculars from the parking lot, and Dwyer made a personal appearance to chat with participants. [But who is to protect society from the police?]

The cops kept things friendly, explaining to club members they were there to protect them from "undesirables" who might try to show up with non-permitted weapons.

I spoke with a police officer about this, and he said that he would arrest someone who carries a gun, because "they pose as a danger to society." He was not interested in the fact that a person has a legal right to carry in plain view in Michigan.

I spoke with an employee of a gun store about this as well. He said that though it is legal to carry a weapon in plain view in Michigan without a permit, a police officer would almost certainly arrest the person exercising their right for the misdemeanor of "disturbing the peace" or "endangering the public."

Indoctrination of the Freshmen by MSU Began this Summer

Michigan State University is requiring the entire freshman class to read a book about the ethnic cleansing that is occurring in Sudan. The book is entitled They Poured Fire on Us from the Sky. My freshman year, students read The Kite Runner, which is a book about Afghan "culture"; last year, students read Lay That Trumpet in Our Hands, which is a book about how whites are racist towards blacks in the south; and this year, the freshmen learn about Sudan. I can just imagine how the professors will tackle the book in their lectures. I have a feeling Lecture #1 will be entitled "Why the U.S. and white people are evil for allowing this to happen to poor, innocent Africans."

Whites to be Minority in U.S. in 2042

Third World Immigration Invasion Set to Destroy America – Will Britain be far Behind?

White people of European descent will no longer make up a majority of the US population by the year 2042 - eight years sooner than previous estimates.

The big change is among Hispanics and Asians whose share of the population is set to double to 30% and 9%.

The US Census Bureau’s latest projections are based on birth, death and current immigration rates. The projections show that the US population is expected to rise from 305 million people to 439 million by 2050, but it will be a population that looks quite different both in age, race and ethnicity.

According to the census bureau’s statistics, people who regard themselves as Hispanic, African-American, Asian, American Indian, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander will become the majority by 2042. Officials had previously projected that this change would happen in 2050.

The new projections suggestion that by 2050, minorities will account for 54% of the population and non-Hispanic whites 46%, down from their current 64.7% share.

Immigration and higher birth rates among US minorities, especially Hispanics, are accelerating the demographic changes. Hispanics will see their population nearly triple from 47 million to 133 million, causing their share of the population to increase from 15% to 30%.

Asians will also see a big increase, with their numbers growing from 16 million to 41 million. Single-race Asians will account for 8% of the population and 9% including those of mixed race.

The black population, including those of mixed race, will show a slight increase from 14% to 15% of the total.

It is likely that the demographic changes will be experienced right across the country - and no longer confined to urban areas as in the past.

In Britain, at least two cities are already heading towards majority black and non-white populations, while the overall population mix is shifting in a similar direction, according to a recent report by “Operation Black Vote” organisation (note again, there is no “Operation White Vote”).

Operation Black Vote said it would take at least 50 years before any significant shift was seen in the population figures, but that “such a shift was inevitable.”

Black and ethnic minority residents now make up about 7 per cent of the general population. Growth would occur slowly as the tendency for people of Asian origin to have larger families would decline, said Ashok Viswanathan, spokesman for Operation Black Vote.

“It will slow down, as by the third generation the trend for larger families will stop,” he said. “It will take at least 50 years before we have any sizeable shift change in population. But the shift is inevitable and should be celebrated.” [Yes, we should celebrate when a First World country turns into Africa...]

Local authority leaders in Birmingham and Leicester have said their cities will be the first with majority non-white populations. Birmingham City Council claims the West Midlands city will get there first, with the change taking place in the next 20 years.

Viswanathan said some London boroughs already have more than 50 per cent non-white populations, such as Newham, east London.

The CRE said the fastest-growing population was among Britain’s mixed-race groups. Given present immigration trends and natural non-white population growth figures, Britain will lose its white majority by approximately 2070 or 2080.
